IEEE PDF eXpress Guidelines

Introduction

All papers submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore must adhere to the IEEE Xplore PDF specification for compatibility. IEEE PDF eXpress is a free service to IEEE conferences, allowing their authors to make IEEE Xplore-compatible PDFs (Conversion function) or to check PDFs that authors have made themselves for IEEE Xplore compatibility (PDF Check function).

Instruction

  • Check layout of manuscript and proofread your source document thoroughly to confirm that it will require no revision.
  • Make sure your manuscript has been revised and the similarity rating of your manuscript is less than 25%
  • Visit the website of IEEE PDF eXpress at https://ieee-pdf-express.org
  • First time users should do the following:
    1. Select the New Users – Click Here
    2. Enter the following:
      1. 54468X for the EECCIS 2022 conference ID
      2. your email address
      3. a password
    3. Continue to enter information as prompted.
  • An online confirmation will be displayed and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.
  • Once inside PDF eXpress you have two options:
    1. Option 1 (Recommended): You can generate the PDF file from your source files (e.g. MS Word) and the generated PDF file will be IEEE Xplore-compliant.
      1. For each conference paper, click “Create New Title”.
      2. Enter identifying text for the paper (title is recommended but not required)
      3. Click “Submit PDF for Checking” or “Submit Source Files for Conversion”
      4. Indicate platform, source file type (if applicable), click Browse and navigate to file, and click “Upload File”. You will receive online and email confirmation of successful upload
      5. You will receive an email with your Checked PDF or IEEE PDF eXpress-converted PDF attached. If you submitted a PDF for Checking, the email will show if your file passed or failed.
      6. This will be the final manuscript file that you will have to upload later on in EDAS.
    2. Option 2: You can validate a PDF file generated previously with any other tool. If you choose this option, please make sure that all the fonts are embedded, there are no bookmarks and no links (URLs). For executing this option, you have to select “Create New Title”, introduce the title of the paper, and then upload your PDF file. Once the status of the file indicates “PDF Passed PDF check; PDF is IEEE Xplore compatible”, download it from PDF eXpress. This will be the final manuscript file that you will have to upload later on in EDAS (please note that EDAS will not allow you to upload the initial PDF file, but the validated and certified file that you download from PDF eXpress).
